Warranty Questions & Answers
Get answers to the most common questions about our warranty coverage and protection plans.
How long does R&E Roofing's workmanship warranty last?
Our workmanship warranty covers your roof for years after installation, giving you long-term peace of mind. The exact duration depends on the scope of work — roof replacements receive our most comprehensive coverage. Contact us for the specific warranty terms that apply to your project.
What does the workmanship warranty cover?
Our workmanship warranty covers defects in installation, including improper flashing, inadequate sealing, faulty shingle application, and any leaks that result from our installation work. If something goes wrong because of how we installed your roof, we fix it at no cost to you.
What isn't covered under the workmanship warranty?
Our workmanship warranty does not cover damage caused by severe weather events (hurricanes, tornadoes, hail), normal wear and tear over time, damage from other contractors working on your roof after our installation, or failure to perform recommended maintenance. Acts of nature and homeowner modifications are also excluded.
How do I file a warranty claim?
Filing a warranty claim is simple. Call us at (667) 204-1609 or visit our contact page to describe the issue. We'll schedule a free inspection, typically within 1-2 business days, to assess the problem and determine if it falls under warranty coverage. If it does, we handle the repair at no charge.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell my home?
Yes, our workmanship warranty can be transferred to the new homeowner, which adds real value when selling your property. Contact us before or after the sale to initiate the transfer. Manufacturer warranty transfer terms vary by brand — we'll help you navigate those details.
Do manufacturer warranties cover labor?
Standard manufacturer warranties typically cover only the materials, not the labor to replace them. However, enhanced manufacturer warranty programs — like GAF's Golden Pledge or CertainTeed's SureStart Plus — can include labor coverage when installed by a certified contractor. We'll explain your options during your estimate.
What happens if my roof leaks after a repair?
If your roof leaks in an area we repaired and the leak is related to our workmanship, we come back and fix it at no additional cost under our warranty. Call us immediately at (667) 204-1609 so we can respond quickly and prevent further damage to your home.
How does warranty coverage work for storm damage?
Storm damage is typically covered by your homeowner's insurance, not by roofing warranties. However, if storm damage reveals a pre-existing installation defect that we're responsible for, our workmanship warranty applies to that portion of the repair. We also assist with insurance claims to help you get the coverage you deserve.
Do I need to maintain my roof to keep the warranty valid?
Yes. Like any warranty, basic maintenance is required to keep coverage active. This includes keeping gutters clean, removing debris from the roof surface, trimming overhanging branches, and scheduling periodic inspections. We recommend a professional roof inspection at least once every two years.
How quickly will you respond to a warranty issue?
We treat warranty issues with the same urgency as any service call. For active leaks or damage that threatens your home's interior, we provide emergency response — typically within hours. For non-emergency warranty concerns, we'll schedule an inspection within 1-2 business days.
